This is, by far, my most favorite piece I have ever done. The scan does this no justice. The beads have actual texture in real life, the contrast of the tree is better-seen... But anyway, I had so much fun working on this piece!

Holy crap, that's a lovely piece!
What did you use to make it? Ink? Markers? Coloured pencil?

In any case it's gorgeous!

I used Prismacolor and Copic markers, Sakura Gelly Roll and Soufflé pens (for the white/highlights/beads), Micron inking pens, and a Pentel brush pen, drawn on patterned/textured paper.

I'd never thought of using markers on textured paper before. I'm tempted to give it a try, although I can't promise it would come out as lovely as this.

Surprisingly, I've found that the textured paper is BETTER than most of what I use (heavy cardstock, bristol board). The inks don't fray, the marker soaks in and saturated the paper better (and stays wet longer, too, for better blending!), pencil erases really easily from it while sketching...
