"YOUR kids, my dear. I don't want these cubs. Do with them as you wish."

Pira was ecstatic — Taka bought into her cunning flirting, and soon enough they spent a night together. And then another and another. Her confidence that Scar considered her his mate grew with each moonlit date. Shortly, Pira stopped hiding it from the pride altogether. And when she noticed her belly starting to grow, she became brazen enough to openly provoke the other lionesses by flaunting her newfound status. This dragged on for about a month or two until Pira decided to speak with Scar about the development of their "relationship". It then became clear that Scar never took her seriously and discerned her true intentions from the very beginning. He simply decided to play along. Moreover, Pira was far from being his first, and the kingdom was rife with his bastard-cubs from a great many other lionesses! Which, of course, everyone knew perfectly well. Everyone save for Pira herself, who was new in the kingdom and did not take the time to thoroughly investigate the situation. Now her relationships within the pride have all been hopelessly soured just like her marvelous plans for the future and she herself was coldly rejected... and heavily pregnant at that.

And there was no one left to show her compassion.
