hm, well its good that they're both the same size and shape, but you might want to make them a bit rounder (especially the bottom half), and not close them off completely. that way you'll get a more realistic eye
as for the iris', try leaving white spaces to show light reflections, I always say the second you add that white dot, the whole picture comes to life.
