This is the underside of the now firmly glued soundboard. The bracing pattern is a variation on the modern X-bracing invented by C. F. Martin for use on Martin guitars. I fear however that adding the finger braces (the little ones jutting out from the X braces) and the Lower face brace (the big one jutting out from the X braces) as well as the thickness I used may have destined this instrument to require steel strings to really ring.
This differs greatly from the latter bracing normaly used in uke's: http://www.hauverguitars.com/images.....dder_cover.jpg
The braces are actually penetrating the. I have kerfing used a dremal tool with a cutter attachment to rout small channels into the kerfing and trimmed the ends of the braces to seat in them.
