After being banished from Heaven, Collin was about to take up the bottle, but Renard knelt down and embraced the sad little cherub in a comforting hug.

It's fitting that it would appear, but not in the way that one would think. Renard's compassion is sincere. He's not trying to deceive Collin into become lamb stew. He would protect him FROM BECOMING lamb stew instead... Granted, he would be insanely violent about it if anyone tried to hurt Collin (or especially him), which is why he's still in Hell, he enjoys killing TOO much, but only those who threaten him or those he cares about.
After resisting watching Helluva Boss, I finally gave in and instantly got obsessed with Collin. I want to see what happens to the cherubs so badly! How are they all going to react to getting kicked out of Heaven with no chance of ever making things right again?
I think Collin would respond a lot like this. After all that hard, unappreciated work, knowing he could never be 'good' again, it'd be tempting to just give up. It's really sweet and interesting for a demon to not want him to just become a sloth imp.

It's very pleasing to get commentary like this. So rare are those, especially from strangers, who put so much effort into expressing their feelings about the artwork I share here. This was just part of a little Twitter art contest someone else came up with, the theme being Collin drunk. I wanted to give it a different perspective in that Renard the Fox Demon is actually trying to encourage Collin NOT to take up drinking, considering that it wouldn't solve his problem. Renard is a Hellborn so he's among the "Innocents" much like Charlie, but he also has a very violent streak and enjoys killing, but only those who try to harass him on purpose. He doesn't go killing just for fun, even though he enjoys it when he does kill. But here, he's one of those who would treat Collin with kindness and love (along with Keenie, since he loves both sheep cherubs.) We can only hope to see more of CHERUB in future episodes. And it's not that he can't be good again, just unable to enter Heaven, making him homeless, per se. Renard would take him to Hell and to Charlie's hotel, knowing she would treat him and the others very kindly, and keep them safe from danger.
I hadn't really looked into Hazbin Hotel or thought about including it as canon, but it makes sense. I imagine a lot of souls that wind up in Hell give in to being corrupting tempters because of it, but those already born in Hell would have a more neutral - even positive - outlook and perspective. I love the idea of the cherubs finding a place at the hotel and diligently working for it, or some outcome like that. We see so little of what happens after they're kicked from Heaven that there's only been fan speculation on what's become of them. I really hope there's someone like Renard or other fallen angels to take them in.
