Continuing the delayed xmas pics.

Seth and i were exchanging pics in early December, and he generously gave me permission to do a sort of after the fact collaboration on a few of his pictures. i started this edit intending to make a flat-colour sort of Japanese print. ....and it's taking longer to finish than i thought. Partially due to it being rather precise and partially because i'm not sure how i want some of the lines to look (they need to be a lot more subtle) and partially because of health issues.

So i still have to finish hair, tail, feet, etc ....

wherein i was trying to do a minimal line pastel version that preserved Seth's brush work but instead got rather odd brushwork - i figured out that it was because Seth paints with a slightly transparent brush resulting in lots of overlapping shapes and values that end-up getting over-emphasized by enlarging the image and lightening it. oops.
