Really *just* OC? o-o Ever gave SAI a try? You might like it's marker-brush for doing lines in this style.

Yeah, I've used SAI, but there's something about the simplicity of oC that I like. Has a kinda charm to it.

Mmh in that you have very limited choices and can focus your attention on them? That is what I keep telling me with Sai, too. Compared to Photosh00p with it's 90014717233 functions off of which you probably just use 50, yet the remaining ones still get in your way and clutter everything :P

Considering the fact I know absolutely nothing about digital art programs, I can't really say much about the OC vs. SAI thing--other than the fact that however OC may pale in comparison to SAI, the art you create with it is so incredible already I can't see how switching to SAI would make any difference. Of course it's possible that might push you into the realms of supergodly furry artdom...but I bet you'll get there all on your own anyway. ^_^

As for the pic itself... *hugs self and purrs happily* It looks incredible already...perfect angle and perspective, love the expression, the braid is spot-on, and yay to your buff lions. :)

And yes oC is amazing. I figured you might have used some program like this. I wouldn't know any other way of getting those lines (besides toying around in photoshop) I love the program alot but FFFFFF I haven't used it in a while.

But yes - oC is very nice for lines! <3

yeah Sai is pretty awesome as well. If you take the marker and set it to about 70-ish density, it's pretty similar to oC.
