I got another job, just moving some guns and ammo to a spot in the middle of the U.S., but it was where in the United States that got me excited. I didn't show it when I was talking to the client, professionalism, but I was eager to head for the state. I packed up the weapons he wanted me to haul, and worked double time to reach the mid-west. Most of the days I was jogging and I ran even hard to make sure I could reach some of the trains already going there. I was actually about four days ahead of schedule, more than I was hoping for. So I made my way more into the mountainous of Minnesota, getting a nice view of lake superior, and then walked a fair distance beside the roads till I found the other thing I came here for.
It was evening at the time and the lights were off, but I knew those lights would be on once anyone set foot inside when they shouldn't... usually. I picked the lock for the back door, and then stepped inside. No lights went on, but I could hear someone walking downstairs. It had to have been her, she could see in the dark as well as I could, though I was more use to it. I sneaked around to try and find a chance behind her, but she stood somewhere too obvious, she was ready for me.
"I know you're there," She spoke into the dark of her living room, "Come out slowly or I'll break your teeth in." She knew where I was, but not who I was, yet.

I stepped a little closer behind her, "You really wanna ruin this smile?" She gasped at the sound of my voice, then I my dear red panda.
She let out a yip and giggled, "Watch, don't scare me like that, you silly mutt." She held my hands and pet me as I nibbled her ear, "I didn't think you were coming back this soon, it's been months." Then she turned a light on, "I've still missed you a lot."
"I missed you too, Korina." I said and nibbled her ear a little more, "But I got a job to bring some stuff to a town near here. I couldn't resist rushing it."
I think I had Korina a little occupied but I could hear little feet scamper back up ths stairs, "Dad is home! Wake up, it's dad!"
Then back down the stairs came 3 kids, Marshal, Coplead, and Cynder. All of them seemed as happy to see me as I was them.
I knelt down and gave the twins a big hug, then gave Cynder a kiss right on the head. "I bet you weren't expecting this were you?"
"Are we gonna get to play, papa?" Copleand ask, "I think I got better at Kuub now."
"No way, you'd never beat him." Marshal said,
"We'll see about that tomorrow." I said to them, "Just don't expect me to play soft."
"Are you staying for the whole day tomorrow?" Cynder asked, but I remembered from her cyan hair that she was reading some of my mind.
"Oh better than that." I said, "Like I was telling mama, I came here faster than I should have. I can spend about four days with you all."
"Watch, are you serious?" Korina asked as I stood up, but she just saw me smile and then she hugged me tight.
"We're gonna have so much fun!" Cynder cheered, "We could go to the park and fetch frisbees!"
"Or make a fort with twigs in the backyard!" Marshal said
"I was thinking we could have a bondfire tomorrow night." I said, "Roasting food, making smores, watching things burn. fun and relaxing."

"Well, if we're going to do something like that, we'll have to make a stop in town." Korina said, "I was planning to do shopping later, but if we go now we could grab marshmallows and get food for the month at the same time."
"Sounds fine to me." I said, but the kids had other ideas.
"Could we come too?" Marshal asked, "We could help grab things for you."
"Yeah, I've been working on my stealing." Cynder smiled, "Please, I'd be a real help."
"I could steal too." Copleand said, "I wanna come."
I looked at the girls surprised, "Are you serious? I didn't come home to raise a pair of thieves."
"They're our children, Watch," Korina said with a smirk, "You really thought we could raise saints." Then she looked to the kids, "I think It'll just be me and papa going out tomorrow, We can't fit everyone in the truck now there's five of us.
She had a good answer, but it left sour when I saw the kids' expressions. Ears down and eyes full of disappointment. What I did next seemed rather dumb to say, but I guess I just wanted to be the cool dad. "It's all good, honey. Let them come along." I said, "I'll just ride in the back of the truck."
"Oh but honey, I wanted to show you some of the friends i made." Korina said, "We don't wanna-"
The kids then erupted with cheer and joy, it looked like they won, but at what cost to me.
"Can I ride in the back of the truck too?" Copleand asked, "That sounds like fun!"
"Oh no you don't." I said, "It's fun but it's dangerous, I don't want my kids pups getting hurt. Now all you get to bed, it may be a weekend but we leave in the morning."
At least they listen well, all of them walked back up the stairs.
"You really had to pull that kind of move." Korina said as she looked to me, "I was really hoping for some personal time with you."
"Yeah, everyone does." I said, "This does, however, allows me to see my whole family while out on the town. Besides I got four days with all of you, There will be plenty of time." Then I sweeped her off her feet, "And here's a little extra time for you." I kissed her on the knows and she giggled and kissed me back as I walked her back to our bedroom.
