At this time of year, I would usually be making a post about my experience and recollection of the Furnal Equinox convention, held annually at the time of the Vernal Equinox in Toronto, Canada. This year, things have obviously been done rather differently, but in light of FE’s successful first official virtual convention I thought it would be nice to put a virtual spin of my own on events. If I can talk to friends, buy art, see the con hotel, and watch panels all through my computer, then surely I can get to the convention through my computer too, through the magic of Microsoft Flight Simulator X (my computer isn’t powerful enough for the newer version).
Here we see what little of the Toronto FSX would load, and yet even so it seems that it included an interpretation of the Westin Harbour Castle, which you can see to the right of shot beyond the white zig-zagged building. Though I imagine your attention has likely been captured by the 1,800ft CN Tower, which even in a fully-rendered city dominates the skyline. Quite a bit over halfway up the tower, one floor above the main observation deck, is the 360 restaurant, which slowly revolves as the diners are served exquisitely-presented meals, and drinks exotic and strange enough to confuse both a bear and a G-Shep (that was a fun end to FE2019). I tuned into a couple of streams today, as well as watched a couple of panels. Today was also the day that most staff and supporters first got to see the virtual conbook, and it’s one that I’m seriously considering printing as a keepsake.
This model and skin of the Cessna 172 is included as a default aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator X.
Hope you enjoy!
