A few things of interest here, but the main thing I want to talk about is to expand upon Cerise's memory. A vast majority of the funding for the station came from the aquatic Jhereshii. They had determined that the benefits of the station well outweighed the cost. And when you consider the council, you may find it odd how none of the council members are Jhereshii. There are 9 Council positions, plus a few minor ones. The Fringewards took the the secretary of education. They're in charge of managing the schools and everything else related to training on the station, but have no interest in the bigger politics involved. So their Council member will never be seen on the council meetings not so much because it'll never be relevant as it is they simply don't care. The tauric Habenceun chose Toreselia to lead, though he didn't arrive until the station fully opened and there was an actual fleet to manage. Before then the fleet more or less just did their own thing. The humans took the Communications secretary, though Carol is actually their third representative. After almost starting a civil war over it, the almost kobold-like Raeshael chose Majis to be in charge of engineering. The Mythics chose Cerise to be in charge of the delegates and it was all agreed that someone from the Mythics be the one in charge of the station itself, since the station is in their space. It is near the border of their space (closest to Raeshael border, though Jhereshii border is also fairly close), but Foznetal is still on Mythic's space.

There was some debate as to which one would get the position. There were quite a few vying for the spot. And then the Jhereshii made their choice. After a considerable deliberation, the Jhereshii chose Anon to be the one in charge of maintaining law and order on the station. They had claimed that her role in the Battle of Mars and the subsequent civil war gave her full understanding of the weight of her position and that she wasn't likely to be corrupt. And they were so adamant about it that they put her installment as a condition of their support. And that meant only her friend Riu was a high enough rank that actually was still interested in the job.

Now Anon is a professional, but does spoil her familiar. But Anon never cared about the main religion of her race and never put any thought into those born with white fur. And Cerise had grown up her whole life to that point being effectively coddled/worshipped because she had white fur. So naturally, they didn't get along at first. It was definitely a culture shock for Cerise to see a Nogis (nogitsune) that not only didn't fall into the stereotype but didn't care at all who she was. And this actually did help her do her job when the other delegates arrived.
