Name: Wilhelm von Wald
Codename: N/A
Gender: Male
Orientation: Pansexual
Species: Sidhe/Tuatha Dé Danann. Takes the form of an Elk.
Age: Unknown, born at some point in the Bronze Age.
Personality: When on the job, a stalwart soul. He takes his duty as defender of the borders of the Fae Lands seriously, and will ensure no evil from Beyond can enter the final paradise of Fantasy. He is efficient, unyielding, and a wall of heroic determination. One might think him emotionless, though they would be mistaken. Off the clock, he's as passionate about life and all it has to offer as any of the Fair Folk. Singing, drinking, carousing, feasting, boasting, he's done it all. Great mirth and great melancholy alike has filled his halls, tales of great deeds and great sorrows.
As with many of the Fair Folk he has a great affection for mortalkind, inspired by their deeds of heroism and how brightly they can shine in the brief time they have in the world. The names of many people, be they heroes, scholars, or ordinary folk who lived on despite the harshness of their lives, have been carved into the stones of his castle. A reminder of what he protects, no matter what they choose to become.
Abilities:
Conceptual Swordsman: Wilhelm has been honing his swordsmanship for thousands of years, in battles of all kinds imaginable and unimaginable. He has thus achieved the pinnacle of the art, to the point where he is effectively a manifestation of the idea of sword wielding.
Waldrand: The idea of a sword made manifest, an ultimate blade forged for him by the High Queen of Fantasia to be used in the defense of the border between fantasy and reality. It's name translates to, "Edge of the Forest." Only Wilhelm may wield it unless he passes it on to someone else. Working in conjunction with his swordsmanship, he can cut through even non-physical things like concepts, channel and enhance his mystical power, and unleash destruction or restore life on a grand scale. As a side effect of that, it has also stopped his aging.
Armor of the Guardian Knight: Forged of gems from the depths of the planet, this suit is one of the finest in the realms tied to Earth. Mundane weapons and magical weapons of a certain level and below outright avoid it, and few magical weapons above it can even scratch it. It is, however, uncomfortable and terribly heavy.
Beloved of Gaea: As one of Gaea's favored knights, Wilhelm has been granted a protective charm to ensure that he cannot die by poisoned food or drink, or any means of assasination. He was also given an Authority that lets him travel the boundary in an instant, and become stronger the longer a fight to protect it goes.
Supernatural Condition: As one of the Sidhe, descended of the Tuatha Dé Danann, Wilhelm possess attributes far beyond what mortals are capable of. Strength, stamina, speed, endurance, and so forth are difficult to measure by mundane scales.
Flight: While performing his duties as guardian of the boundary, Wilhelm is able to fly freely with the wings on his armor. His top speeds allow him to perform supersonic flight and he can go as high as the edge of the atmosphere itself.
Profile: Wilhelm vom Wald was born in the Bronze Age, in the regions of the world that would one day be known as Germany. From the moment he was able, he was training to become the guardian of the border between fantasy and reality, as one day the Queens of the Sidhe and the High Queen of Fantasia knew one day it would become needed to keep the two realms apart. Thus he spent his youth among every culture's warriors he could, learning their crafts and philosophies.
Having learned the value of life's fleeting nature in spite of his own lifespan, he took to his duties with a will once the Boundary had to be formally established. He didn't want the mortals he loved so much to be lost in the dangers of the realms of the supernatural, and nor did he want anything from said realms to trouble them in turn. In modern times he is most often seen guarding the entrance to the magical realm in Sable City, ensuring no one unauthorized or with ill-intent can enter or exit, even though his watch isn't perfect and several threats have slipped through time and time again.
The Ash District especially vexes him, though he knows that the defenders of that part of the city are up to the task of combatting the forgotten, nameless horrors that crawl into the mortal realm from Beyond. Whenever he is off the clock, he can be found either in his castle, visiting the Hilltop Monastery, or assisting the defenders of the city with training, as he has no authority to intervene in mortal affairs beyond saving the lives of individuals in danger.
Weaknesses: As with any of the Fair Folk, Wilhelm is susceptible to weapons crafted from Cold Iron, though due to Gaea's protection, the iron in question must be of celestial origin, not of Earth or any realm tied to it. As a check to his powers, Wilhelm is also weak to creations of Mad Science, particularly ones made to combat and disrupt sorcery.
