No, people who don't "do" art tend to be kind of... clueless. I'm halfway surprised they didn't congratulate you for drawing Simba or something. Your style is not in the least derived from anime, as far as I see.

That said, I really enjoy the way you draw your anthros. They look fairly realistic, but without that creepy level of realism that makes it impossible to relate to. They have a lot of life and personality to their faces. Also, echoing the commenter above me... the feets on this are super good/cute!

Some critique, though you may be well aware of it - while well drawn, his legs seem quite a bit smaller in proportion to his upper body.
