After a long, tiring journey away from home, Ri and Two come back exhausted, and even though it's still daytime out, they pass out in the reading nook in their office. Anytime can be nighttime when you live underground!
So, uh, this is my first *real* drawing! I've drawn Ri and Two by copying the official artwork, but I really wanted to try something myself, so armed with my ref sheets, and not enough time at all, I managed to get this done in 6 hours. It was... a lot of work. I have... way too many layers in CSP of sketches of these two, and while I'm still not completely happy, I feel like I've reached the limit of my skills currently. I know it doesn't look great, but I'm super proud of it because I worried that I wouldn't be able to put anything together like this and have it look *this* good already. The biggest thing to me, is that though it looks a little awkward (and a little uncomfortable for them), Ri and Two look like they could *actually* be lying there. Looking at the blank canvas this morning, I worried that I'd be able to draw anything at all, but hey, I feel like I managed to get the perspectives all close enough that the piece actually seems somewhat coherent.
So, maybe expect a little more of this as I keep learning? I'm still going to write and compose, but I'm also learning that this is really fulfilling, too. It's great being able to render something I see in my head. This goes along with a story I've written recently but haven't shared, so it's wonderful being able to illustrate the things I write in my stories.
