The bigger version of an anthropomorphic Ronald Reagan, as seen in the comic. I figured that the experience of creating fuzzy versions of these world leaders (per se) makes them worthwhile to post on their own.
For those whose life story begins with Modern Warfare 2, I'll provide you with a bit of history on the late President Reagan. The 40th President of the United States, he served from 1981 to 1989. At 69 years of age when he took office, he was the oldest U.S. President in history.
His administration weathered many crises, including the economic recession of the early '80s, a massive air traffic controllers' strike, wars in Lebanon and Grenada, the Iran Contra scandal, Libyan terrorism, the Drug War, and the Cold War. He is particularly famous for his brinkmanship with the Soviet Union and for his economic policy shifts, still referred to as "Reaganomics".
Reagan was a controversial president, and even though he won one of the nation's most one-sided general elections in 1985 there were considerable differences of opinion regarding his policies. A symbol of a time of recovery, growing optimism, and a bit of cockiness, Reagan's influence continues to reverberate through his country to this day, though not always in a good way.

I wish that I could tell you what could be done to repair America, but I don't think anyone really knows, not from the level of the citizen all the way to our elected officials. If I were to hazard a guess, however, it would be electing a government that respects a free market. This isn't just a jab at socialized policies. It's also a jab at the neoconservative approach, which seems to be handing as many tax breaks, subsidies, political appointeeships, and court decisions to the wealthiest section of the population as possible.
Part of the problem, in my opinion, stems from ideas put into action during the Reagan years, but 'perfected' during W. Bush's administration. For 8 years we busily downsized the government, not through layoffs but through forced resignations and retirements. Transportation, Education, State Department, EPA, USAID, Interior, and National Parks administrations all took a horrible beating. Their most experienced workers, their 'institutional memory and legacy', got swept aside in this frenzy to try and reduce government costs.
Now we're in a situation where we need improvements in all of those areas badly, and we're in a situation where simply pumping money into the agencies won't solve the issue. It will probably take decades of restructuring and rebuilding the government services before we regain some sense of competence and confidence.
I don't blame Obama for the pickle the country is in, at least not entirely. However, I'm growing more skeptical about his ability and our current government's ability to do anything about it. Why are we still hung up on the issues of abortion and gay marriage when we have so many more tangible, solvable problems we can work on?
Ugh. That turned into a rant. Well, at least you know where I stand now in a political sense.

I know. Every choice has a cost- and in this case, it would seem the cost is that awesome Karl Marx facial hair. We must choose between the vision of our founding fathers and the vision of a country filled with great, billowing beards from sea to shining sea.
An agonizing choice, to be sure.

The new Constitution should not be framed.
Optimally, the ends of it should be taped together securely and it should spend its time being spooled through a player piano.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a Constitution with elements everyone could enjoy? ;D
I'm being entirely non-serious in case it isn't apparent.

Originalist, for one thing. She points out two important facts that people these days don't get:
States were originally almost completely autonomous and were intended by the Founding Fathers to remain that way.
Arguments against secession are plain stupid, because the original Union was founded in a violent war.
How's that garbage?

He came in an a time of great social agony (After Jimmy Carter screwed up the economy) and made the country and the world better... he created more jobs and more growth in a shorter time than any leader ever and he did it while preserving and expanding freedom for every day people... I was lucky to live through that time period to see it all
Cause it has jowls, mainly. Ronnie had prodigious wrinkles. I decided not to go with a bulldog because it didn't quite have the character I was looking for.
As for respect for the man, I'll leave my personal opinion of him a secret, but I should let you know that I drew him to give the current story a historical context. I'm not trying to glorify or vilify the man.

The problem with using a bulldog or a pug is that it has been identified so strongly as a national caricature symbol for another nation.
It's so peculiar how these things come about. "Can't use that, that symbolizes something else to too many people."
Everything symbolizes something else to too many people. ;)
I still think both of these were brilliantly identifiable. Good job on that.

Wether or not i participate in the fandom or not does not change the fact that it has a poor reputation, and perception/reception in public light compared to Ronnie RayGun.
The fandom is naturally extremely left wing, as it harbors unquestioningly sexual deviates such as pedophiles, sentiments of anti-Americanism, pro-marxist (in reality Armchair communists) sentiments due to the nature of its members mostly being basement dwelling unemployed obese socially inept sex fields inebriated or stoned while chronically masturbating to poorly executed Sonic, Diaper-fur, chubby furry pornography. Mostly Engage in polymorous relationships and are renown for con sex parties also known as orgies.
All of the above is considered the norm as per the fandom. and to think that a furry would respect Reagan is appalling, I'm glad we share nothing in common.
Yet , I'm a fur? yes. Do i have a poor perception of the fandom? Absolutely. I would rather sit in a bar with a Columbian Marxist, Anti government rebel than a member of the actual member of the mainstream furry community.

You use the term of sexual deviants as though you have some degree in psychology or some higher form of understanding of the human nature and you clearly don't.
I wasn't aware the the term sexual deviant was to be used only by persons with degrees in physiology. When have i held myself up on a soapbox on here? Never. Right Wing? Me? Far from it dick head. Wind your neck in.
you fail to provide any decent evidence to support your claim of Regan being a decent person or a wonderful president.
No where in the comments have i claimed he was a decent person or a wonderful president. clearly you're already labeling me and don't . Go fuck yourself.
History shows he was a racist, religious bigot slave to C operate America, who did nothing more then drool in a sleep filled Alzheimer coma.
Next you'll say he invented crack to bring down the black community.
And only fools ignore history. Perhaps as a decent person i should show some respect for a fellow human being, but given his station and complete failure to provide a better country for us to live in- i find my self at a loss.
Thats a great expectation for a executive branch of the government and its of no responsibility of the citizenry to improve its country but of the government?
In politics you are only as intelligent as the people you vote for
How partisan of you.
and your willingness to stand by a corporate puppet speaks for its self.
I stand for my country, as a Ret. Soldier, Private Military Contractor, and former Law Enforcement. you'll possibly just label me as some sort of Government oppressor doing the corporations bidding.
Yes you are a fur? And yet- wonder why anyone would respect you? In this we do agree, why would anyone respect you?
Because unlike you, instead of bitching about political bullshit and arguing on the internet how terrible America is i actually went into my community to improve it and protect America and its interests fro enemies foreign and abroad. I have more volunteer community service hours than anyone in my graduating class. I've involved myself in foreign countries rescuing political hostages/villagers caught in the drug cartels wars in Columbia and spent 4 years in south america stopping the source of narcotics and drug funds and persecuting drug lords to prevent violence reaching the borders of the united states.
Why the fuck should i respect you? Why should i respect carter? Why do i have to vote Democrat in order to be "intelligent" ?

Hmm, a bunch of freaks with a weird fetish versus the man who popularized the kind of economy that increases the disparity of wealth between the rich and the poor, and giving a disproportionate amount of power to corporations who more often than not, abuse their position to screw over the people? I wonder which is worse.
While I agree that the fandom is full of fucked up people with their fucked up drama, I think your perception might be a little bit skewed.
