Just a friendly game of chess in the park =) Things will heat up later, when the fox claims his prize from the bet he made with this stag before the game ;)
Enjoy!

ha ha! Good luck with that fox, ya Stag!
Beautiful style, btw. I especially love how you made the chess pieces reflect slightly on the chess board, and I really like how you work with the shadows! If that was in 2006, I can't wait to see what else you've made lately!

I always have little games with my bro, just to test his abilities. We were finding our what he's better at than me, and I said that it might be strategy in general, so we played a game with that in mind, and I barely pulled my victory. It all depended on one particular mistake of his, and once he moved that rook, it was all over.
T'was a good game, though, long and difficult.

If he'd not moved it away from protecting the one pawn that was stopping my rook... I actually kinda want to recreate the scenario. He tried to move it so he could continue on and threaten my bishop and knight, which were holding his king still. I think he had a knight as well, but the rest were pawns.
Yes, that it is endgame is clear. Hence the confusion on my part as to how it came as a surprise. A good player should have seen it coming a long time before and either resigned or prevented it.
I doubt there was a 0-0-0 as well, more likely an endgame Q-R pin that pushed the king over.
