...Everybody knows that a new eraser is better than a tiny one.
Why?
simple, because you can control it better.
I recomend to use a white eraser, the tint of the colored ones, sometimes screw up the drawing when you erase pressing too hard.
"My eraser is dirty and it screw up my draw every eachtime i try to erase something!"
-Try to erase the dirty eraser over a clean piece of paper, so you can clean it .
-"rub" it against your pants to clean it.
-If your eraser had ink spots, clean it untill you cant see any spot of ink using the second tip here.
"My eraser is too tiny"
-Buy a new one.
"my eraser is wet, should I erase with it?"
-NO! it will make a hole in the paper!!!
"what if i dont have a white eraser?"
-Erase carefuly.
-erase only in 1 direction, not in zig-zag.
...clean your erase every eachtime you will use it, it can have some wetness of your hand of some charcoal particle that you didnt noticed.

I use kneaded gum erasers. They don't get small or leave pieces behind! Knead after use, and they're clean again! They're a little more expensive, but I have an art instructor who has used the same gum eraser since she was in college and shes's been teaching for at least 10 years.
