He comes from a race of wolf/bear people known as the Akuo who live on a cold snowy planet, he was of the many non-human foot soldiers the US government allowed in their ranks during the war, and one of the few to get experimented with their military-grade augmentations

his people fought bravely for them and sacrificed a lot despite getting little in return, thou over the years, his people harbor increasing bitterness as the earth's government continue to exploit their planet's resources and offer little support for post-war rebuilding

he eventually joins the Army of Charon and aids them in order to fight for his homeworld's sovereignty and push back against earth's imperialist influence in the galaxy
