A heart of fear, the dark, and the most terrible nightmares...
The second in the pair of 'heart' paintings - this one being the gyrfalcon. Based on what I usually do, it may seem strange that the crow has the heart of 'dreams' and the gyrfalcon has the heart of 'nightmares!' I thought it fit well, though, especially with the contrasting stones. Besides, a gyrfalcon is probably a fitting nightmare for plenty of creatures ;)
3.5 X 5.5 inch watercolor painting on 5X7 inch illustration board, with a black stone cabochon.
Also for sale on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/5107046.....inal-gyrfalcon Sold!

I think it's neat the conflict you've introduced in the title by swapping the colours on the birds/stones with their typical (in English, at the very least, don't know about other countries) symbolic counterparts with regards to Good/Evil, light/dark, etc.
Might even make a good Diptych as a set :) Hopefully someone realizes it and picks them both up from you :)

Oops, I mean to reply the below response to you. Somehow it didn't attach to your comment!
Thanks! I was thinking of offering them only as a set on Etsy, but figured it wouldn't be fair to someone who only wanted one.
Usually I portray falcons as being the messengers of dreams, but decided to swap things around a bit. Besides, nightmares are still dreams, only darker :3
