For anyone I've not already screamed it at- I am getting a german shepherd puppy soon (10th April) and his name is Koi.

The reason behind the name is as follows:
Tamaskans are my favourite breed of dog and have been for years, but I also think they look like coyotes. So I kind of got "Coy" stuck in my head when I dreamed of owning my very own tamaskan. Now I am finally in a position where I can look after a dog I found that here in Austria it is common for tamaskans to have up to 20% wolf content in them! Sadly this means they aren't suitable for me as I just wanted the look and not the wolf and decided instead on a calmer natured (but still active) german shepherd which is a large part of what went into the tamaskan breed anyway.
I was still attached to the name Coy but it didn't really make sense to use that name anymore with a non-wolf-lookalike. My boyfriend misheard me saying Coy and thought I meant the fish Koi, and I don't know why that just seemed so quaint to me to have a fishdog. Afterall, I call my parrot a duck, a potato and a banana so why not a fish dog?
