A Long Awaited Happening | Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Lucas slowly woke up after a very good night’s rest. He couldn’t grasp why, but he was very happy. He got up, and decided to wear his favourite outfit. A Bordeaux red sweater, a pair of stretchy jeans, his favourite sneakers and a dark blue scarf. His breakfast wasn’t the worst either. Scrambled eggs, with two twists of salt, and two twists of pepper, the perfect ratio. His day couldn’t get any better.
After breakfast he headed to his office, checking his phone in the meantime. One message from Damian.
“Hey Lucas! Thank you so, so, so much for the piece that you dropped off! It’s amazing, exactly how I imagined it to be! So, listen, I was wondering, would you like to come over and help me out with some stuff tonight? I’d really appreciate it! 8pm, if that’s okay with you! I’ll hear from ya!”
Lucas’s heart jumped at reading the message. He quickly replied that 8pm was no problem at all, and that he’d be happy to help. His mind already moved on to different thoughts of what Damian might want his help with.
Feeling extremely motivated and inspired, Lucas decided that he should dedicate an entire piece to Damian. Of course, the fox would not know about it, as most of Lucas’s personal art would be kept hidden, most of the times. Lucas’s art style was rated mature mostly, for partial nudity, but this piece would by no means be mature rated, it would be a full-on adult rating. That was how much Lucas liked to imagine things about Damian. Obsessive? Maybe. Cute? Perhaps. Safe for work? Absolutely not!
While sketching, Lucas started thinking of what Damian might have planned. He imagined a romantic date with the fox, with a candle-lit table, a four-course meal, some expensive, fancy wine, and the best steak he had ever had. Then his mind turned 180 degrees, realizing that Damian might not share the feelings for Lucas that Lucas has for him. The thought somewhat demoralized the wolf, but he wouldn’t let it take him out of his groove while drawing.
Lucas took a deep breath, and let the thoughts slide right through him. Why would he have to care about that now? Care later, when it’s necessary, he thought. And with that, he just kept on drawing, finishing the sketch, just before he realized that it was almost 8pm. He had lost his sense of time so much, that he would have to hurry if he wanted to be in time.
He quickly cleaned up the office, putting everything back where he took it from, took his keys, put on a coat, and left for Damian’s place, getting more and more excited every step he took, not knowing what the fox had planned.
