For one of my close, amazing friends.

Levi might be a derg but he's also a child of the tech age, that and he doesnt want to get his feathers wet. Lavin on the other hand is as wild and untamed as they come! Being good friends it's only natural they'd hold a contest to see which method of fishing is gonna get more fish.

Takeaways from project:

White lining for brightness is harder than it looks
Shading for brightness in general is harder than it looks. Shading for darkness is easy by comparison.
Background attempts 1 & 2 were complete failures but I now have a nice pebble brush.
Making water look water-y is hard.
A fishing pole's tapering pole is harder than it sounds to draw.
Hands are still REE
Staying aware of which direction the light is coming from can occasionally be tricky but I think I'm starting to get it.
Might need a bigger canvas size to work with (currently canvas is 4k) when working with characters in the background.
