Introducing my Zorua/Zoroark, Zua!
(Yeah, this is a bit late but I have a massive backlog lol)

Zua was born as a female Zorua with a strange mutation... A third, purple eye that glows, granting her far more powerful psychic and transformative abilities than a normal Zorua... In fact, more than just basic illusions, she can effectively shapeshift! Only problem is, that third eye is a bit like the tail on a normal Zorua, it's really difficult to hide it, especially for extended periods of time.

Growing up, the odd mutation made her a bit of a target for being made fun of by the other Pokemon. Zua dealt with this by lashing out or playing tricks on the other kids and townsfolk. Her mom loved and cared for her anyway, but she had always been a bit of a trickster herself, as well having tricked and stolen in the past when they'd fallen on bad times and needed to put food on the table. So the two of them had a pretty poor reputation with the other villagers.

As for Zua's father, he left right after her birth. He was rude and never did care about her mother. This left her as a single parent, who tried her best to raise Zua, but things were difficult due to their poor reputation. Their home would even get vandalized on a regular basis. And Zua was hardly learning anything because all the kids and teachers hated her.

Eventually, with the angry mob against them only slowly mounting, her mom decided it was for the best that they found a new place to live. The village they came from was very secluded, hidden deep in the forests to keep it safe, but this also meant that to find a new place to stay, Zua and her mother had to venture deep through the woods and pass through the dangerous and mystical Mystery Dungeons, full of strong, brute Pokemon, unprepared and with little resources or items.

Sadly, along the way, Zua's mother lost her child. Zua was stranded, left on her own, lost deep in the dangerous woodland dungeons! She wandered aimlessly, sobbing for hours, then days... looking everywhere, but she never found her mother.

But finally in the nick of time, she was found and rescued by an adventuring Grovyle pirate, who was exploring the dungeons of the area! He had been following a local legend, as he hunted for buried treasures of rare and valuable items.

Feeling bad for the poor little odd Zorua, he took her in and decided to raise her as his own young recruit, while they searched for her family. Sadly, they were never able to find Zua's parents. So, lacking a family of his own, the Grovyle opted to raise her instead, and taught her the ways of the world and the Mystery Dungeons, how to use her powers and how to battle, and of course how to be a venturing pirate, braving the waters and exploring the mysteries of the Pokemon world!
