If you like ska, what do you think of mid-80s Elfman-era Oingo Boingo? Yes, the band that the Oingo Boingo brothers were named after. They were technically New Wave, but they incorporated elements of ska. First time I heard Bonetrousle, it immediately reminded me of 'No One Lives Forever'. There are a lot of Oingo Boingo songs that fit Undertale's philosophical themes (especially the album 'Dead Man's Party') and also a lot of songs that match up with the characters. For example, Weird Science for Alphys and Forbidden Zone for Gaster. Acktually, Forbidden Zone sort of fits for the Underground in general.
Oingo Boingo is definitely one of my favorite bands of the 1980’s era, and in retrospect I do see a lot of the ska influences and even the more ska-oriented stuff they did. Of course I’ll always love the hits like “Weird Science” and “Dead Man’s Party,” but overall I adore what Elfman and his band did for the new wave and ska sub genres. :3
Of course DEVO will always be my fave new wave group of all time

Devo's 'Human Rocket' immediately pops into my head during the part where Alphys activates your jetpack and you have fly up to get the SOUL substitute stuff while Mettaton wails on you with foodstuffs in the style of a classic arcade game. The lyrics are too perfect! Example: "I am a human missile - Guided by a secret agenda - That commands my every thought and deed - And wills me on my way // I am a human rocket - On a mission of redemption - I've been cocked and loaded - Primed by everything I know"
"Secret agenda" could refer to Alphys's ulterior motive of being your Dungeon Master like any self-respecting nerd (or "self-deprecating" nerd in her case). "Mission of redemption" could refer to the True Pacifist route as a general philosophical concept. Btw, did you find the Trigun reference on the True Pacifist route? It's toward the end. It's why I call it the "True VASHifist" route. X3 Oh, and Undyne is totally Wolfwood.
