At FA U, I was able to talk to
2gryphon and see if the wireframe I had made fit him. While we were discussing it, he said it would be awesome if he had one of those nazi caps to go with it. Unfortunately, I only make good guy things. However, when I got home, I realized that my dad had an authentic soviet officer's cap, so I just had to try it on him, and damn, it actually fit really well.
A bit of backstory on the hat: No, I am not a Soviet fur. That is a real officer's hat from back when Russia was still the USSR. This was only a few years before the collapse of the Soviet Union, and my dad was traveling through. He was stopped on the street by a soldier who was desperately trying to sell his uniform for any american currency, so my dad got the hat for something like $5. He could probably have gotten the whole uniform for $10.

Ah, Soviets does not really count as good guys, considering that they were allied with Germany and Japan until Germany decided to backstab the Soviet Union. Not to mention Joseph Stalin... *shudders*. So I think it is very offensive to call soviets the 'good guys'. Ask any polish, estonian, hungarian, ukranian, etc. or even a swede. :/
But aside that little error. I find the picture really awesome! The fursuit head is done really well, and the visor cap suits very well with the head and looks snazzy, too! Despite what regime the visor cap came from c: So I agree that it fits perfectly with the colours. And it is rare for a fursuit to catch my eye.

Relax. I am a quarter finnish, and am proud that such a tiny country was able to hold the USSR at bay for decades. I do not consider the soviet union good guys. Stalin killed millions just as Hitler did. I did not mean to imply that I used it for the picture because it was a good thing. I did not make the cap, it is a genuine historical artifact, but I figured it was at least, better than a nazi cap, of which I am proud to say we do not have in our house. We keep the hat in my dad's closet, next to our other historical headgear; a pullman conductor's hat, and a wisconsin cheesehead.
