''Wish I was still four...''
So about three days ago, I was having a dessert after dinner and I chose chocolate-filled cornflakes. I often decorate it with whipped cream to make it even more delicious. 😋 The new whipped cream dispenser revealed a slightly narrower line of whipped cream, so I decided to put a little more than usual on my dessert. When I had finished almost all the whipped cream, suddenly this formation appeared that was supposed to represent the number four, and I suddenly thought of all the things I did when I was little, including during my fourth year of life -- walking with a babysitter through a park, playing games on a computer (mostly drawing games or the then popular Luxor), and lying on a bed in the shape of a racing car. The bed belonged to a slightly older child named Max (no, not Dutch F1 champ Max Verstappen). My babysitter had a daughter as well, named Roos. We often visited shops like Aldi, LIDL and Albert Heijn. Sometimes, we bought absolutely delicious stuff there, like sweets and most notably, sausage rolls! When we got home afterwards, the babysitter would give me a nice, warm diaper and put me to bed, so I could enjoy a peaceful daytime nap with some great padding!
The age of four was a very special age for me, since I think four is the age of finally beginning to understand your surroundings and develop your personality, while still being little enough to be viewed as a kid, and many things you do wrong are mostly small things that can easily be put aside. It's the best of both worlds. Pee or poo in your diaper? Well, just ask your caregiver or babysitter to change you. Wanna play with friends and having child-like fun? No probs! Making new discoveries however small they may be? It's absolutely worth the time toddling over to it, putting your small, sensitive toddler hands on it and asking your parents, caregiver or babysitter to teach you about it!
That is what makes the age of four, so special to me!

I feel ya' (^_^) If it was up to me, I would've traveled back to the year 2003, because the age of four is, in my opinion, the age of starting to understand the world around you, but still being young enough to view everything you're doing is justified because toddlers aren't capable of baring any responsibility for themselves or others. They just enjoy the things they get to do, and gradually learn about anything that might be new for them. You technically COULD say that about older kids as well, but by the time you're reaching... say, age 8 or 9 in your youth, a lot of the simple things you DO get to discover, just don't ''wow'' you anymore. Know what I mean?
