After some suggestions for  shetira, I decided to do a refit of the Langley Class Carrier.

Just so you know, The hull of the Langley Class is as wide as it's saucer area, therefore provideing structural support along the core of the vessel, even though she still has a number of launch bays. Plus the four bays at the end, two per side are for landing only, the four bays in total are a good length of the ship. The bay doors on the sides are for rapid launch of fighters or assault shuttles, kind of like on the Battlestar Galactica.
