The sun was high on the quiet street when the yellow car came to a stop at the modest home. The sound of singing birds tickled the long orange and tiger striped ears of the brown haired tabbit as she stepped out of the vehicle. A light breeze flowed over and around her and brought her attention to the new leaves on the trees lining the street. “Looks like spring has sprung alright.” she mused to herself as she held her suit jacket closed. Her name tag rustled slightly in the wind. It read “Saia Catseye”. She closed the door and turned toward the house she’d parked in front of. Her blue eyes roved around the area behind her glasses. “Nothing looks amiss. I hope you’re okay.” she said in thought before she flipped keys around her key ring to find the one she was looking for.
The sound of a key turning in a lock echoed through the quiet living room before the front door opened to allow Saia inside. The tabbit looked around the room. Messy as always, but nothing looks out of the ordinary. This was the home of Saia’s friend Cotton Candy. The blue bunny hadn’t been heard from since a few days before Easter. And Saia had stopped by her house on the way home from work to check on her.
She moved through the house and looked in the few rooms quickly. Her kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom were all empty. “That leaves the workshop. Perhaps I should have started there really.” she said as she moved to the door at the end of the hall. Behind it was a set of stairs going down into a basement.
The stairs creaked softly under the tabbit’s weight as she descended into the basement turned workshop. Metal devices were everywhere. Gadgets, and machines designed by her friend lay strewn about the floor in disarray. “You should learn to clean up once in a while. Or hire a maid.” she said as she stepped over and around things. On the other side of the room soft sounds met Saia’s hearing. She looked behind a large machine to find a sight she hadn’t expected to find. Cotton Candy lay on her back bound in multicolored pastel ribbons. Her hands were bound in front of her and a ribbon went around her face covering her mouth. A light blush lit up the blue bunny’s cheeks at the sight of her friend as her purple eyes sparkled happily.
“There you are.” sighed Saia happily. She was happy Cotton gave her a key in case of emergencies. Who knows how long it would have taken her to be found otherwise. She moved to start undoing the ribbon, before she noticed just how tightly her friend was bound. “Damn these are tight. What happened? Did you get into another fight with an A.I. of yours?” she asked half jokingly. Cotton’s purple eyes roved to the other side of the room guiltily at the question. “Wait you did? Let me guess. You insulted it by saying its motherboard is from a TI82 again.” she guessed. Cotton continued to look away from her.
Saia shook her head. Her friend was always getting into these kinds of situations. She was very smart and made a living as an engineer designing and repairing rides for theme parks, but she works with more advanced machines at home. And sometimes they have artificial intelligence and are borderline sentient. “These knots are too tight. I’ll need to go grab some scissors.” announced the tabbit a moment of struggling with tight knots later. “I hope you’ve learned your lesson this time though…” started Saia to her captive audience. She had some words of wisdom to say, and Cotton was going to listen to her.
Cotton turned an exasperated gaze toward Saia before her purple eyes widened at the sight not of the lecturing tabbit, but behind her. A robot she’d designed was on the ceiling behind her holding a long length of ribbon. It was a decoration robot she’d designed, and the one that had tied her up so tightly. She attempted to make noise through the ribbon around her mouth, but Saia’s eyes were closed in her lecture. Her arms crossed. She was completely unaware of the danger closing in on her from behind. Cotton tried again to get her attention. She had to. If she couldn’t then they both would be in the same predicament together.

That’s one tightly bound bunny there! Judging from her current state, it seems that she got a little too ‘wrapped up’ in her work for her own good. Perhaps this episode will teach her a little ‘restraint’ in the future... 😋
And that’s it for the gags. Good little Easter themed story Sly. Hope you had a happy Easter!

Decorations robots are indeed quite a problem. To cheer up the masses, the government started mass producing them and organized one event every weeks, which were now weeks of days. Anyway. When someone isn't showing enough joy, the decoration robots would brand those people as party pooper and turn them into joyful decorations to cheer up the population. Needless to say, Attendances are mandatory.
