monster hunter rise which now adds palamutes as well basicly dog version of palicos. mine in game named Peets was like 4am and couldnt think of a name for palico so paws feet peets XD

For someone who never knew of Palicos you got it down.

What I love about Palicos is they are literally just cats up on their hind legs. In a world full of sexy catgirls, seeing the cliche get wrecked is priceless. XD

I never thought about it like that- Sexy cat girls vs realistic cat people <3!! I never heard of palico's until this commission and I feel left out XD

From what I can tell, Palicos are not an idea that someone came up with one stroke of genius, but just happened, "one thing leads to another". In early Monster Hunter games, when out on a hunt you might encounter Felynes (would not attack the player but would defend themselves) and Melynx (black cats who will pounce on you and steal a item and run away). Then they started showing up as townspeople, cooks, farmers, pushing carts. (Yes, you go to the restaurant and a "cat" cooks your food!) Palicos first appeared in Monster Hunter 4. So in my head, a Palico is just a Felyne wearing armor. Monster Hunter 5, you can BE the Palico, which I think is just lulz.

Going from left out to being in is as simple as playing one of the games. (Although, fair warning, they are not easy games.)
