If my mother hadn't been wearing a helmet when riding her bicycle, I wouldn't be here making this comment. Parents should raise their kids on the rule "No helmet, no wheels." If I had a cent for every time I saw a kid or even an adult using a bike, skateboard, scooter, rollerblades, four-wheeler, motorcycle, etc, etc, etc without a helmet, I'd be a millionaire, and that's only a slight exaggeration. Now that I think about it, it's no wonder we have so many idiots running amok when seemingly almost nobody is wearing a helmet.

In my state, helmets are optional - which explains why I spend so much in car insurance.
