Well, this springs from a pet concept of mine: blurring the dividing line between car and driver. Like when you say "He almost hit me" instead of "his car almost hit my car", or when you walk through a parking lot and think "Where am I?" instead of "Where is my car?", or when you think of yourself as traveling along a road, instead of sitting in a seat twiddling a wheel to control a *car* that is traveling along a road.
That's one of the main reasons I liked Pixar's "Cars" so much.

That's a very good point. I never really thought about it, but a lot of car talk hints about accepting the car as a part of the body.
Probably why I did okay in Driver's Ed but was never comfortable; at all times I was aware I was inside a huge metal box travelling very fast.

I liked Suzie The Little Blue Coupe more. The moral of Cars didn't sit well with me for reasons I'm still not sure of.
I love the pic you did of Babs as a car. So cute!
