It's "Gwaepril" once more, my annual excuse to focus on my favourite Fae merchant, Gwaeron!

Gwae's response: Me favourite animal? I'd 'ave to say sheep! They're real class and ye can get wool from them, so I get to buy and sell a lot of wool. We 'ave a lot of sheep on Emain Ablach, but the sheep of Breizh are much smaller than the ones I am used to. They're really cute. Do ye 'ave sheep where ye live?
Val's notes: Gwae is Tuatha de Danaan from Faerie, and has seen quite a few creatures that would seem strange and magical to the average human, like the tiny snakelike dragons, the amphiptere or the loyal hunting hounds of the Tuatha, the Cŵn Annwn. But Gwae takes delight in what could be considered mundane by others, her favourite animal being the simple sheep. A merchant at heart, Gwae finds the economic aspects of textile production, a major industry in her adopted home, as fascinating (plus she thinks that sheep are just cute). Sheep are actually one of the few mundane creatures that has been domesticated successfully in Faerie, and can be found throughout the Fortunate Isles, where they are tended to by Tuatha and Korrigan shepherds. As Gwae says, the sheep of Breizh, known as Eusa (Ouessant) sheep are very small (only about 49 cm tall). There are other breeds of sheep as well that are raised on the peninsula, but the tiny Eusa sheep are her favourite.
Sadly, Gwae cannot answer what her favourite animal that she is not aware of is. Unlike Morgiana, she won't make up one and then charge you a sous to see it.
