I am so happy I was able to get this commissioned, Demon's Souls is one of my all time favorite games and have been having a blast with the remake on PS5, love how this fight was remastered with the rain and lightning fiercely coming down as you fight the King while keeping the main components of the fight the same and I couldn't help but think how perfect Ion would fit into fighting this archdemon. I really love how the HUD version came out as the fight is based on the remake but the HUD is based on the original, a perfect blend of both versions

The swirling fog faded around Ion as he was transported to the top of a cliffside with rain pouring down and the smell of souls in the air, he had arrived at the shadowmen's isle. The trek through was harsh, storm beasts roamed the sky and the skeletons of the fallen were brought back to life by the souls that possessed them, but still Ion pressed through, a vanguard blocked the patch but was swiftly taken out by skillful strikes and dodges. The path continued on, beyond a wall of fog it wrapped around the cliffside as it got narrower, guarded by the golden bones of soul starved brute skeletons, Ion would have to watch his footing, you don't want to fall here, Carefully taking out the bones that block his path, Ion arrived at the gate of judgement, a lone dual wielding black skeleton guarding it's entry, it was quick but Ion was quicker as in one fell swoop, the black bones scattered across the staircase. Passing through the fog, Ion was met by the Adjudicator, a disgusting creature that upon it's head sat a golden crow, its job was to judge the souls of the dead but it too had been frenzied by the arrival of the storm beasts, Ion would have to take it out. Knocking down the body to get at the crow, it wasn't long before it fell, doors opened to continue on as Ion now arrived at the shrine's forefront, though there being waiting for him. Entering the depths of the shrine, a reaper of the dead summoned the shadowlurkers to defend against the intruder, though Ion just ignored them and went straight for the reaper, cutting it down as the shadowlurkers vanished from sight. The path continued back outside, back around the cliff's edge, still guarded by those possessed skeletons, they were stronger then before but that still didn't stop Ion's progress. Heading back into the shrine, the shadowlurkers now guarded his patch forward and this time there was no way around, Ion would have to fight them, at least until he could find their reaper. Down a few flights of stairs, taking out the shadowlurkers on the way, Ion came face to face with the reaper, though it position was foolish, as simply knocking it backwards made it fall far to the room below, ending it's existence as well as the shadowlurkers tied to it. Looking into that room below, Ion thought it would be import somehow, didn't know just what it held yet but the path was leading him there. Back outside along the cliffs again, the path was mysteriously empty, nothing guarding his way forward, it was odd but Ion would take the brief moment of relief. Heading back inside though, the path again was blocked by a shadowlurker, space was a lot tighter but taking it out was no sweat, rounding the corner another shadowlurker stood in the way, though this one powered up and as Ion got closer, a flash of white light emanated out from it, creating a powerful damaging beam. Ion was able to dodge to the side, only to be attacked by the reaper that had summoned it, though after regaining his composure, the reaper fell with ease taking the last of the shadowlurkers with it.
Getting to the bottom of the shrine, Ion was amazed by the beauty of an underground spring, though the stench of souls was thick as many wisps floated on by. Getting close though made them explode with damaging force, even in this tranquil place, you still had to watch your movements. Heading up a small flight of stairs and passing through the fog, Ion arrived at the room he saw from above, the corpse of the reaper he knocked in here still laying on the ground. Looking up Ion could see the body of a old shadowmen Hero embedded into the walls, though that being's spirit was strong enough to sense his presence, it ripped itself out of the embedded body, ready to defend the way forward, the place Ion needed to get to. Though something was off with this hero, he moved by feeling the air around him, keeping his ears perked listening for any sounds around him, Ion could tell he was blind and as long as he was silent and careful with his attacks, the Hero should prose no threat. It took a while as Ion had to be careful with his attacks but the spirit of the Hero fell, no there was nothing left between Ion and the one he sought after. Walking back outside for the final time, Ion was faced with a forest of monoliths, rain and lightning came down as storm beasts roamed fiercely through the sky and attacked on sight, the presence of a much larger storm beast darkened the sky above, the one Ion was after. Here was said to lay a sword that could part the storms and render the sky, but Ion was in no need of it, he was the Sotrmfox, his own abilities could do the same thing, he didn't need the help of the shadowmen's weapon, his own sword was more then enough. The large storm beast though would not come down from the sky, it didn't seam to see Ion as a threat but after he cut down most of it's kin, the beast's anger kicked in. Swooping down from the sky, the large storm beast, the Storm King made it's presence known over the forest of monoliths, sending out it's own piercing attacks as the wind picked up but Ion was ready, raising his sword in the air, the storms swirled around it, readying to send out a powerful wave to cut through the large beast, it was a powerful enemy, an archdemon with a powerful soul that was needed to end the madness in Boletaria and Ion would have to be on his guard as the fight between the Stormfox and the Storm King had only now just begun

I fully disagree, this boss fight was interesting (most interesting mechanically of the archdemons) and it is my favorite of the 4 archdemons and second favorite boss overall in the game (false king being my favorite), The atmosphere is better in the remake with the full storm coming down but the fight is fun rendering the sky and using the power of the storm to take it down (at least in the first playthrough per character, NG+ I suggest switching to a bow or use your magic if sorcerer build). I always save Storm King for last before fighting False King (even though on first playthroughs I do 4-1 and 4-2 first after 1-1) as I just love this fight
Yorm was a failed attempt at trying to replicate the Storm King boss fight (as Storm King came way before, 2009 vs 2016) Yorm was more a callback to the Storm King fight (well mostly just because of the Stormruler) but there is nothing beyond that, that is similar. I get that, I was lucky enough after the PS5 reveal event just out of chance checking the Best Buy website and they had them up for preorder and I just jumped on it before the major rush and bot wars started
For me this one has the best atmosphere in the entire game, though Astrea does come close also (don't know if you made it that far yet) but in at least in the remake Storm King is by far better as with Astrea in the remake the music only starts to ramp up when engaging with Garl Vinland and I find him easy to take down so the good parts of the some sometimes don't get to play (which leads me to having to prolong the fight intentionally to fully hear the beat) where as in the original the music starts going right away and the main beat hits fast leading to a more epic fight but will still take the remake over the original here for the better controls, graphics and smooth 60fps framerate
