Taken earlier today at the Arlington Fly-in airshow, here is an upclose of a Consolidated Aircraft PBY Catalina amphibious seaplane. It's the most successful aircraft of it's type make, with over 4000 being built and was used a lot during WWII as a multirole aircraft, doing things like anti-submarine warfare, patrol bombing, convoy escorts, and search and rescue.
This one has been modified for aerial firefighting, and sadly wasn't able to see it fly, but still a nifty looking plane I think.
