I'm not a mathematician, so I'll forego the precise calculations.. but I'll say this, this song (along with the first part) is terrific for the ears. A real experience. The piano interacts excellently with the guitar and drums, and at the breaks the bass backing really shines. The only qualm I can have is with the static rumble that comes along with one layer (I think it's the guitar).. have you tried getting rid of that with Adobe Audition/Cool Edit Pro?
Aww, thank you so very much, sir fox. ^^ In all truth... there isn't any bass in the song, though. *Muses*
Ah, the static is actually from the drum track, since I cheaply recorded it off of my keyboard, which seems to have a bit of static, for some reason. >_< I couldn't successfully edit it out with any programs I have without altering the overall sound in some form or another, so I just left it. Though since I'm getting a new keyboard in a week or so, I'm deeply considering re-recording this song (both parts). ^^

Okay, that makes more sense. I had quietly debated with myself to switch my guess to drums after listening to it again, but it's just as well - it's the keyboard. Good drumtrack though, could've fooled me. : )
Just like the bassy notes apparently - must be the low rhythm notes of the keyboard. But yeah, do re-record, can't do it any harm. I trust you'll be able to make it even better. *Nose-nudges* Will you add anything to it? Or change any arrangement? The clearing static alone would be a great boon, especially if it coincides with a better keyboard sound. What're you getting?

I do so wish I could record my drum set, all the same. >_<
The bass notes you're hearing are probably those from the keyboard, yes.... I play with both hands, the right hand doing all of the work, and the left hand just plays bass notes. So this is the result. ^^ Oh, I'll certainly be adding to it. *Noddles* I'm getting a... Casio CK-3300, I believe it is. *Wags a bit*

That's pretty advanced!
But what's the problem in recording your drums? If this tactic nets you this static you'll probably won't do much worse with the real deal - something tells me you're not using the right filter approach. I can help you with that, if you like.. not that I'm a mixing genius - or even like doing it, but this is for a higher purpose. *laughs*

Nah, not really. >_<
Recording the drums? The sound doesn't come through clear enough... sounds too distant and hollow to really be of any good. I'd need better recording equipment for that, and seeing as I have none... *Shrugs* ...cheap static-filled keyboard sets have to work. >_< Bugger.
Though thank you kindly, all the same, for such an offer, sir. ^^

Oh, well, without a good mic / mic amp I would see the problem.. the keyboard approach isn't bad though (like I said, it sounds surprisingly strong). Especially if you can get your new one to come through without too much static.
And it's all relative in the advanced business - I'm stealing an old crappy casio myself now, and it's a big upgrade from 'nothing at all', unless you can count my PC keyboard in midi mode..
I'm looking forward to the new version of this slashing tune. : )
