"To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come"
--Hamlet, Act III, Scene I
So every now and again, for reasons I'm not entirely privy to, I get a bout of sleep-dread. Just a strange, insistent feeling that something awful is going to happen if I go to sleep. Either dread of the sleep itself, or of the time lost, or of the next day approaching. It's been a bit worse lately, probably due to Covid- and work-related stresses. My sleep paralysis and lucid dreaming rates have gone up too. But I thought I might try to do a bit of art relating to the feelings I tend to get when the dread is approaching, and I suddenly don't want to go to bed.
