Why do I hear the theme from "Branded" in my brain right now? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-Mnp6VAmEc
Does not fit exactly as here it is very justified.

My memory immediately went to this image: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....._AC_SX466_.jpg
An absolute -murder- just took place here lmao
I also love the little detail of Kathy's crown literally snapping to attention when the Empress addresses her XD
That's the kind of thing I absolutely LOVE about your comic: the tiny little nuances that make the punchline so much funnier. Three Stooges for the absolute -win- =D

How humiliatin'! A little lesson in addressing a noble -- from the noble.
My Dad was in Belgium in January of 1945, at the end of the Battle of the Bulge. Private right off the boat, pretty much; he'd been there about three weeks. A gasoline-fired stove in his tent exploded and a piece of flying debris cut his shoulder. He reported to the medical tent to get it patched up -- as General Omar Bradley was passing out Purple Hearts to the battle wounded. When the General's group got to Dad, he stammered out that he hadn't earned the medal. When Bradley saw the commotion, he came over and the Major informed him a G.I. was refusing the medal. Dad explained how he had been injured, in an accident and not on the battlefield. The General told him that he was an honest soldier and would he be remembered -- and the Major took down his personal information.
A few months later he was transferred to an Allied POW camp, just bulldozed out of the Black Forest. He was watching German prisoners, and the German that he had learned as a child from his grandmother came in handy. The Major running the camp called him into his office -- the same Major who had been handing out medals in the Ardennes. He had discovered that Dad was transferred to his camp and spoke fluent German. He also knew how to drill troops -- most of the recent arrivals did not. He was given a field promotion to Sergeant on the spot, skipping Corporal.

In an episode of "McHale's Navy," con artist Gruber gets a Purple Heart when injured by shrapnel from an exploding laundry tub. It's actually one of the funniest episodes. Captain Binghamton thinks Gruber was killed in action, judging by the condition of "his uniform" which was found in the flotsam of the demolished tub.

The face of Jinjur as she realizes how truly outmatched she was from the very beginning. First, she didn't expect Kathy to win, losing the position she wanted to win and getting humiliated. Then it turns out that the Empress knew about her intentions all along. Kill Kathy? Killed for disobedience. Kathy kills her? She's forgiven and nobody gives a damn! Even if Jinjur won without killing her victory would have been removed. The face of Jinjur as she's demoted shows that the Empress hit her right where it hurt. Despite her hubris, it is implied that Jinjur earned her rank, treacherous thoughts aside, so having it revoked is the ultimate indignity. And her rank is given to Kathy, who knows nothing about fighting. The way she's forced into accepting the rank tells me the Empress is someone who could take down Kathy even at her angriest.
