This handsome gryphon is Alakor! Alakor is a snow gryphon, the largest and strongest of the gryphon breeds in my various worlds. They're always primarily white, and each has unique black markings. The snow gryphon breed was once native to the northern reaches and mountains of their home continent. However, in the times in which the story takes place, most of them have been forcibly conscripted by the Golden Union, to serve as a counterpoint to the Empire of the Black Star's Gryphon Legion.

Alakor himself is a highly trained operative, excelling in both direct combat, and counterintelligence. As the story begins, he's defecting from the Golden Union, to escape his abusive masters and join up with the great city-ship Cataclysm. Though at first he simply seems to seek refuge, and perhaps revenge, the truth is far more complicated, and far more dangerous...

Alakor is one of the central characters of my ongoing serialized fantasy/steampunk saga, Princess of Beasts.
