Even in his near comatose state, Max was able to give one of the greatest sacrifices a parent can do. What are the effects of that beam he took for Princess Sally Acorn? Will it simply disintegrate him, or something more?
Here's the next collaboration page of the crossover comic I do with
Waimbert where I write the story, he draws the outlines for it and I do the rest.

That just means you’re doing better.
It’s not like Hollywood and such doesn’t do it all the time where there’s a sudden closing of space to accommodate the visual time. Just look at Last Jedi for someone suddenly being within grabbing distance for something that should have been well beyond their reach by then. The fact that so much visibility is given to the distance, makes the sudden switch so much more noticeable. I’m not even worried he was able to do so in spite of his mobility problems either (or the disappearing wheelchair I just kinda noticed).

I guess I could have added a panel where King Max run up to Sally her but I thought the sudden pull from his hand convey the message clearer as a desperate and quick act of heroism as selfishly took on the blast himself. Though I am still trying to perfect panel to panel action scenes at the drawing stage.
