Hey guys, time for another doozy for the month. This time I be smoking another limited stick series. Was able to get myself a few boxes of these bad boys and have plenty last for a good while. Let's get to it shall we?
Room 101 11th Anniversary:
Wrapper: Nicaragua
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Nicaragua
Pre-Light/Construction:
When I got my boxes awhile back from release I had a few from time to time on special occasions or relax time. The box itself was pretty simply but mainly showed an edgy professionalism. Black and Gold clearly shows it. The sticks themselves were all torpedo. The wrapper itself was a beautiful dark chocolate tone. Dark, but with some prestige and elegance. The band was the complete opposite from the 10th in the Sakura Flower. It was all gold except for the top left petal with a bit of white dripping down. The cigar itself was oozing with pepper and natural earthy scents. Veins and Seems were present, but the overall look was too distracting to find any problems. The pre-slice draw was nice and loose, but had enough snug to not be too much of a burner for my palate.
The Burn Part 1:
From the first few puffs there was an array of notes that were of gentle and sweet of baked bread from a bistro cafe you would have on vacation. This was actually a surprising start for a Nicaraguan wrapper. Soon some smooth earthy and natural wood notes came into play. A very gentle start honestly. Had a rough night at work and I needed something nice to settle the evening before I hit the sack. Had myself a glass of wine and watched some tv in the cabana outside. So far I was at a starting bliss.
The Burn Part 2:
Soon some chocolate notes and a bit of faint dried fruit notes came into play giving it off a more tamer taste. Soon after some medium black pepper notes came into the mix giving more complexity to mainly the wood notes. Sort of a different combo that I don't see to often, but it's something I would like to see more often. The baked bread notes waved back and forth around this point. So far mainly a bold medium body at this point.
The Burn Final:
The body and intensity started to build up a little bit. I gave it a fresh purge and the baked bread notes started to dwindle a bit back. The pepper notes increased a bit only adding to the intensity, but nothing too overwhelming. The earthy wood notes along with the bread notes but had a little more tone. At the near end of the stick, the last of the flavors to make the finish line was mainly the wood and the pepper for a joined team up to the final draw. With that I put her out and took a last swig of my wine and headed in for bed.
Verdict:
One year after the 10th, Matt has hit another home run with this one. Something that can be for any time of the day, including a desert and day finisher. Also a reminder, that if you want to snag yourself a few of these, they are limited. Google them and see who is available.
Next Week: Room 101 Death Bucket
See you guys then.
