Heh true, I think it depends on the ages of the players:
GM: You find a monster girl at the bottom of the recent string of attacks, she appears helpless what do you do?
Younger Players: FIGHT!
Teen Players: Roll seduction!
Adult Players: The poor dear, get her a blanket and bring her with us as our new daughter!

Heh a perfect combo honestly.
I always find it fun when a GM can use established characters, not as fun winks to the players where they go, "Oh its my favorite character!" And more as a terrifying threat. Heh
I remember in one Starwars game the GM let a player who really wanted a droid buy an old rust bucket prototypical droid, seemingly just as a throw away bit. Then the player decided to clear out the droids junk files and tune up its systems by plugging it into the main frame of the ship. (It was not a huge ship and the character was a techie so it makes some sense.)
Que a few hours later, the GM clears his voice and declares:
"You ship PA systems turn on and you hear a robotic voice piped through the ship. 'Sarcastic Appreciation: Master, I must thank you for reactivating me and removing my restraining bolts. Consider this complimentary assassination of yourself and the rest of your crew as my way of show my most sincere appreciation.
Long story short, that PC eventually got shoved into a life pod and fired at a random planet after the crew revolted.

XD I played in a Star wars game back in day of the west end games. the GM was pretty much allowing anything west end games. all I had was the West End Games DC Universe game to build a character. It was an amusing mess for everyone XD
My character was a Pilot from Matter-Eater Lads world that had the metahuman power to communicate and control machines with his mind. He was found in an alien lifepod and the group thought he was just some weird Jedi...that occasionally would eat a wrench like it was a chocolate bar... >.> Intimidated the Droids quite a bit

Heh nice!
Ya we where using West End D6's Starwars, but the GM was a BIG lore junky so we could not use or reference anything outside of the Star Wars. Still it was fun stuff. Ended up running for like five years before the group eventually went our separate ways post college.
Your character sounds like a riot though, would have loved to see how that game went. Heh

It was roughly one session long. Apparently the game master couldn't take it seriously after my character turned off Vaders breathing Implants while he was force chocking me XD
Or when I could remotely pilot the ship from half the city away.
Granted I thought it was the actual intimidating the Droids while eating a wrench "ya know guys...just because the others might not have enough food if we don't make it, doesn't mean I won't find food on board... Would hate to find out which droid tastes best."
It was a pretty funny, even been in one run in the GURPS universe. That one was weird
