YES I can never get it "right"... every time I try it's just awkward and horrible. I usually do the "physics defying" type like you describe but every so often I try to actually include the glasses arms. Really, unless it's a species that has similar ear placement they'd have to simply be modified if it were gonna work... and that would just look so bad... like, I don't know, kept on with rubber bands or something xD
