The Transcaucasian tiger, also known as the Turanian tiger, or the Caspian tiger (Panthera tigris virgata) is an extinct subspecies of tigers from Central Asia, Iran, and the Caucasus. He was last seen in the Amu Darya Delta in 1957.

The population in the XIX century was 10 thousand individuals, and by the end of the sixties of the XX century, the subspecies was completely exterminated. The main reason for the extinction of the Turan tiger is the reduction of food resources and treacherous human actions that deprived the animal of the right to life.
