So, to clear things up for me, its almost like an internal combustion engine, but the piston is driven magnetically instead of with exploding gasoline?

i have two in my head like that, this pick is one of them, the mechanical version. the electric one im planning on using scavanging to have a rediculous battery life, or to be able to run on its own (in theory). i designed them to use exsisting components, to cut down on cost and increase compatability with vertually anything on the market with a piston engine. that was a mouthfull, lol

oh, and for this engine, the throttle is the "cam" advance.. magnets are stronger the closer they are... so if i retard the timing on the "cam", i throttle the enging down, if i advance it, i throttle it up. i wonder if it will work? haha.
