Cosplay: Toni as Conroy/Kato (Star Blazers/Yamato)

Conroy (Saburoh Kato)
Conroy is the Second Leader of the Black Tiger fighter squad. His uniform colours are yellow on black, with a white collar. A little pugnacious, he was probably the best fighter pilot in the Earth Defense Force. Though it is not shown in Star Blazers, Conroy died after he successfully piloted Wildstar and Sandor to safety after they had invaded the Comet Empire and destroyed its Energy Center. The decision to kill off Conroy was probably regretted later by the Japanese script writers.

Well, I was thinking in terms of Admiral Dewey's flagship, a fixture of the Philly waterfront for decades, now...

Yanno, that's a durned good question. I just grew up with the Olympia being a Penn's Landing fixture, and never gave much thought to what the heck it was doing there. Well, if the city of Olympia can raise the bux for restoration and moving, perhaps it can be moved?
Anyhow, I once had an Andromeda-class Star Force model ship I referred to as the "Olympia," FWIW.

Gyaah, I first started watching StarBlazers back in its 78 or 79 syndication - An AWESOME lot of AWESOME for a 4 year old kid, when the only other thing to do is play in the dirt in rural Kentucky. I dare say it's influenced the very fabric of my being. Certainly the Black Tigers, in both the flounder-like Cosmo Tiger and Tiger II oof, big favorites. I think I like the Como Tiger one more though. :)
Ever seem this fellow? He does some wonderful SCY concept work: http://lighthousezen.seesaa.net/

Ooo! Nice stuff indeed. Thanks for the headsup!
And likewise about SB's late 70s syndication; 'course, I was in high school by then.
Still, it warped me...
