Ah! I'm really, really enjoying your b&w work. It somehow has even more depth than your colour work, IMO, and it highlights how well you work with shapes. Here you can see so many different textures - organic and sketchy lines to thick and inky ones to thin and straight ones; scruffy fur to soft light to shiny metal, etc - and yet they are not random; the motifs are well-placed and repeated throughout.
The hypnotic shapes in the holes of the scissors are such a cool detail. It makes the item look like a living, breathing thing, reinforced with the way they mirror DD's eyes. I think I can see where the title "parallel" comes from.

They've for sure been very liberating; ontop of allowing me to comfortably draw sloppily. Spending less time worrying about perfectionism and having fun with the parts I enjoy such as each of those particular details that make the subjects pop.

And glad you caught the 'parallel'~ Trying to be cute and slowly turning my random nuances in pics into a sort'of rock/paper/scissors trinity.

I wouldn't even call this sloppy! - and I even love a plenty of sloppy art. Don't overexert yourself, when you can make art that's just as good in less time and energy <3
