This is my cat Lynx looking contemplative while doing her impersonation of the mythic Ceiling Cat.

She was another rescued kitten. She has no tail at all, allegedly because a raccoon attacked her. But I personally believe her mother who accidentally ate her tail (mistaking it with the umbilical cord) when she was born. That's in known to happen some times.
