Streaked Tenrec, first of a number of designs I want to create based off lesser known animals! I’m a huge animal science nerd and love to create anthro designs, so I think it’s about time I combined the two!

Some streaked tenrec fun facts:

- They are in the superorder Afrotheria, which includes aardvarks, elephants, dugongs and more! Their similarities to hedgehogs and shrews are superficial.
- Unusual for a mammal, they have a.. cloaca???
- They mostly eat earth worms!
- They’re the only mammals known to use stridulation to produce sound, which is the act of rubbing body parts together to make noise, like many insects do! They use their quills to do this.
