Yup. Coptic binding is definitely the way to go. It's strong and secure, and pretty easy to do. Also, small signatures mean no trimming necessary and waxed thread (wax it yourself or get it pre-waxed) is a necessity.
I used a 100" length of thread, and it just perfectly did 12 two-sheet signatures.
