Back in December 2020, I started doing character design practice as a way for me to shake out of an art block and to warm up to doing commissions. Eventually my mind went to doing a tactical rpg ala Shining Force, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics etc, with furry characters.

I'd like to try and make it some day, but for the time being, here are the character designs I've been making on the weekends for fun!

I thought I'd try something more amphibian!

Originally I had in mind that she was a frog, but she could also be a newt to be fair, haha. I liked the idea of frogs shyly popping their heads out of the water, and that got me thinking about selkies and mermaids, how their hair float around in the water below. A ruffled simple dress akin to koi fish fins, stuff like that! Bringing them out of the water kinda created this creepy cute character design
