Back in December 2020, I started doing character design practice as a way for me to shake out of an art block and to warm up to doing commissions. Eventually my mind went to doing a tactical rpg ala Shining Force, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics etc, with furry characters.

I'd like to try and make it some day, but for the time being, here are the character designs I've been making on the weekends for fun!

I liked the idea of having a single "character" unit that was actually two characters! As I had "grenadier" type units envisioned with the skunk and doe earlier, the idea of having a canon being carted around by two small characters seemed very chaotic and funny to me.

So as I was trying to think what would be a good species to showcase the chaotic nature of this idea, I found myself in a rabbit hole watching ferret videos. So here are the ferret brothers! They are most likely hard of hearing due to being so close to explosions all the time. I Imagine they would also be a part of the croc's pirate crew
